Happy Independence Day from Disney Parks and Resorts

Today, the United States of America celebrates our independence. So, I’m taking a break from the Motivational Monday posts to put up a few videos from celebrations that went on at various Disney Theme Parks to celebrate the 4th of July last year.

First up, last year was Disneyland’s 60th Aniversary. They had a special fireworks show called “Disneyland Forever” as part of their night time offerings. So, as Disney does, they added a special tag to the end of the Disneyland Forever Fireworks Show” for the 4th of July. If you don’t want to watch the “Disneyland Forever” part, skip to the 16 minute mark and you can take on the 4th of July tag.

Over at Disney California Adventure, they took the opposite approach with the World of Color: Celebrate show. They put the 4th of July tag at the start of the show. After the tag is the World of Color: Celebrate show.

Jumping to the East Coast, at EPCOT they have added a tag for the 4th of July to Illuminations that is quite spectacular. Jump to 13 minutes for where the tag starts.

Over at the Magic Kingdom, they replace the normal Wishes fireworks with Disney’s Celebrate America Fireworks for the 4th of July weekend. This video was taken this year! So, if you want a fireworks show that is ONLY patriotic, this is the show for you!

Of course, the Disney parks not only put on some pretty great fireworks shows, but at EPCOT we have the Voices of Liberty who offer up Americana music all year long. This acapella group is fantastic! In year’s past, I’ve put up videos of their main performance on the outdoors stage at the American Pavilion in EPCOT. So, this year, I thought it would be cool to put up a couple videos of their sets in their usual performance place…

in the American Pavilion. This show is the pre-show for….

The American Adventure show.

Over at the Magic Kingdom, there is the Hall of Presidents show. This show has audio animatronics for every President of the United States. The show stays current. Starting with Bill Clinton’s presidency, they altered the show to have the current president give part of the speech every president says at their inauguration. Most of the presidents just wave or nod their head at the roll call. It is a very rah, rah America show.

To close this out, we head back to California for Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln.

I hope this post leaves you feeling all patriotic!

  1. great post and Happy 4th! I am flying back to LA now and will be heading to Disneyland for fireworks tonight!
I know most people dont like Hall of Presidents but I love it! I love that some of the presidents fall asleep while the current President is talking haha

    1. You’re crazy! I’d never go to Disneyland on the 4th of July. It’s way too busy for me. I know it will be fun. But, still too crazy for me.
