It’s Global Running Day!

Did you know there was such a thing as Global Running Day? Before 2014, I had never heard of such a thing. But, today is that day in 2017. If you click on the link above, you’ll get to check out all the fun stuff being planned for this day around the globe.

One of the fun things I wanted to highlight is the crazy sale the Rock n Roll Marathon race series has going of today only. If you are interested in running in any of the races that the Rock n Roll race series puts on around the globe, you will want to click on the image above to check out all the special pricing. I mean, we’re talking half marathons for only $60! As a runDisney runner, this price won’t even get you into a 5K at Disney.

There are lots of running groups and race organizers who have organized special runs today. Out here, the Conquer Endurance Group, sponsors of the Los Angeles Marathon, have a fun run in the evening.

In my hometown, they have a really fun event going on. Check out the details…

Runners + “non-runners” alike are invited to celebrate Global Running Day in Pasadena on June 7!

This fun, free event is a chance to celebrate the joys of running with people around the world. Brought to you by Stride, Pasadena Pacers, Dog Haus Running Club, and with partners Run With Us, Lululemon Athletica and Athleta.

Celebrate National Running Day + visit some of Pasadena’s best running stops, while collecting raffle tickets to win great prizes.

Runners can start from Dog Has, Stride, or Smith Chiropractic and along the way, will have 7 stops where they can win extra raffle tickets by answering trivia questions or complete photo missions.

All runners will finish their loop at Stride where they’ll turn in their tickets for a variety of great prizes. The after-party will be happening at Dog Haus from 7-10:30.

So, what am I doing to celebrate Global Running Day? I’m starting my 2017 TCS NYC Marathon training with 4 miles (assuming I get out the door in time… 3 miles if I don’t).

Can’t get out the door and run today? Check out the above video that’s a documentary about the man behind the New York City Marathon. Yes, I have New York on the brain.

Want to find inspiration to start running or challenge yourself to run a full marathon, check out this clip.

Happy Global Running Day Everyone! Now, get out and run!
