Always Compete So You Can Win Forever

Y’all, I’ve been wanting to share this video forever. When I watched it the first time, all I could think was that I needed to share this video on my blog. I had a downer of a workout week. So, I thought I’d share something positive instead and make this a “Motivation Monday” instead of the weekly recap. I know that this video is nearly 2 hours long. However, it’s so worth a listen. The good news is that you don’t have to actually watch the video. You won’t gain too much from watching over merely listening.

As you may know, Pete Carroll is the current head coach for the Seattle Seahawks in the NFL. He gained fame as head coach for the University of Southern California Trojans football team. In his tenure as coach at USC, he developed this philosophy he called “Win Forever.” You can purchase a copy from Amazon by clicking here. You get a good deal of how that philosophy came into being in this video. However, he does go more in depth in his book. The philosophy of “Win Forever” is built on always competing. In the video, Pete talks about how Win Forever isn’t meant to mean you never loose. However, if you want to win, you need to always compete with yourself. His message is one that I think will resonate with runners who are always competing with ourselves. So, please take the time to check out this video and prepare to be inspired. There’s even an appearance by Will Ferrell. I know I plan on listening to this again today!
