As for me, I’m going with the time improvement training plan. Although, I will be starting this plan on week 2. Currently, I’m training to get myself ready to train for the Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon. On week 1, I will be finishing that training cycle with a 13 mile run. I kind of like how it fits with what I’m currently doing. As of this writing, I’m going to be attempting to set a new half marathon PR at the Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon. I’ve run this race 2 times before for fun. It’s time to try for the PR.

On this page of training, there will be one change. Week 8 is the week of the 2016 Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend. I’ll be running in the Disneyland 5K on Friday, September 2nd and the Disneyland 10K on September 3rd. So, that means, I won’t be running 8 x 800 that day. Instead, I’m planning on running the Disneyland 5K for fun and he Disneyland 10K for time. Just like last year, I’ll be aiming at setting a new 10K PR at the Disneyland 10K race. Of course, if my training isn’t looking like I’ll PR, I’ll adjust my goals then. We shall see. I have a 9 mile run the weekend before the Disneyland 10K.

The home stretch will see me go all the way to 17 miles in training for a 13.1 mile race. By the time I get into October, I’ll have a much better idea of the possibility of a PR. I’m hoping to enter week 15 with my sights still set on a new half marathon PR.

Last year, I was super happy to have finished the Inaugural Infinity Gauntlet Challenge. This year, I hope to be smiling because I set a new half marathon PR. Of course, the work I’m doing now is all in preparation for the 2016 Avengers Super Heroes Half Marathon. Even though, the focused training doesn’t start until July 19th, the training I’m doing is still getting me ready. There’s a lot of work to do. I can’t wait for November 13th!
