Tomorrow, Monsters University, the latest Disney/Pixar movie arrives in theatres. Are you excited about seeing this movie? I am! I loved Monsters, Inc. when it came out back in 2001. Who didn’t love Sulley, Mike Wizowski, and Boo? It was a fun movie that taught us all there really are monsters under the bed and in our closets. Although, as we would find out, those monsters are now there to generate laughter instead of screams. Monstropolis was a really creative world. I love that the folks at Disney created a Monsters, Inc. ride at Disney California Adventure. The queue line really brings us into the world of Monstropolis. I know that the ride itself isn’t large on thrills, but it still is a fun ride. If you haven’t been on the ride, here is a video that will give you a taste of what it’s like.
As I said, I think I’m more of a fan of the cue line than the actual ride (although, I do like both) because of the immersiveness of the line. When I heard that they were making another Monsters movie, I was pretty excited. Of course, this movie is a pre-quel to the original. We get to find out how Mike Wizowski and Sulley first met. With it being a Pixar movie, I’m sure that it won’t be like Animal House kind of college. It will probably be rather tame and family friendly. However, it will still be fun. After all, this is Pixar.
Around the Walt Disney Studio Lot, we’re in the spirit for this movie. Check out the Studio Store…
Every other week, we get an employee magazine called Disney Newsreel. The magazine gives us Disney employees the 411 on what’s going on with the company. Since Monsters University is coming out, it was, of course the feature of the latest issue.
Part of the reason I love runDisney is that I love Disney. Yes, I’m a fan of the very company I work for. So, I’m really excited when they put out a film that I know I will enjoy. One of the perks of working for Disney is that we get to see many of the films for free. Lately, they’ve been having screenings for us employees on the Lot. So, I will be checking out Monsters University on the Lot this coming Sunday evening. How about you? Will you be taking in the latest from Pixar this weekend? I hope that all of you who get to see this film will enjoy it.
