Week 4 in training for the Disneyland Half Marathon/Dumbo Challenge is complete. It’s been an amazing week of training! The highlight of which was a 5 mile run on Saturday. The second “long” run went amazingly well. I finished in just under 57 minutes for an average pace of 11 minutes, 22 seconds per mile! Two weeks ago, my first “long” run didn’t go nearly as well. So, it felt AMAZING to be running on Saturday! My first three miles were each finished in under 11 minutes each! It was a different course for me to be running. The not knowing where each mile would end made things fun and interesting.
My two other runs were 5K’s where I had 11 minute, 33 seconds per mile and (a new 2013 best) 11 minute, 18 seconds per mile averages. The two gym workouts prepped me for another increase this week! In addition to that, I lost 1.8lbs! In my first 4 weeks, I’ve lost 10.2lbs! What can I say? I’m on a roll!
Here’s what I did this past week:
Monday – Rest
Tuesday – Ran 3.10 miles
Wednesday – 30 minutes on the Elliptical machine, abs, chin ups, dips, leg press
Thursday – Ran 3.10 miles (fastest time in 2013)
Friday – Rest Day
Saturday – Ran 5 miles
Sunday – 30 minutes on the Elliptical machine, abs, chin ups, dips, leg press
4 Weeks down, 14 to go until the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend. In my first four weeks, I had 20 scheduled training workouts and completed 19 of them. In my life, I’ve never had a 4 week span like this one. In the past week, I feel like I’m just starting to break through the obstacles that have hindered me in the past and I’m seeing what happens when you’re consistent. Looking forward to week 5!
You sure are on a roll! Keep up the awesome work! :0)
