This week’s Music Wednesday brings a double dip of songs from my playlist. As I ran yesterday, these two songs brought great comfort to me as I (along with everyone in the running community) continue to process the tragedy in Boston. Yesterday was filled with runners all over the world showing their resolve to not let terror win and continues on into today…and will continue into the future. Some runners were even posting PR’s in the process of running to show their support. All of that goes to show that what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. You know what I mean?
Please don’t get me wrong. I’m not trying to make light of the fact that 3 people did lose their lives. It’s just that I’m the kind of person who tries to see the silver lining in every situation. So, I tend to focus on those volunteers, runners, first responders, and police that went running towards the smoke in helping the victims. I want to remember that wherever evil exists, good is right there as well waiting to overcome that which tries to keep it down. Whenever evil peeks through and knocks good to the ground, the good just gets right back up and continues to move forward. By continuing to run, not only do we, the runners, become stronger, but we show our resiliency to continue to get back up again and keep moving forward.
