Sometimes You’ve Just Gotta Dance (even when running)

Still feeling excited over registering for my first marathon and the fact that I get to plan a trip to Walt Disney World in January 2014! However, there is a LOT of work to be done between now and then. Some days, it will feel like there’s always going to be another mountain and I’m gonna want to make it move….always gonna be another battle… oh, you know the rest.


Yes, it’s a return of Music Wednesdays. As I attempt to not only figure out this running thing, I’m also a newbie blogger. Since I’m a musician at heart, music will always have a huge role in whatever I do. The same is true of running. When training, I live by my playlists. For my running playlists, I look for songs that are upbeat and have a positive message to them. This week’s song, “Dance, Dance, Dance” by former American Idol contestant Mandisa does just that. This song is upbeat and just makes you want to dance (even when running).


Happy dancing….I mean running…this week y’all! If you have any songs that are great to run to, please share in the comments section. I’m always looking for new tunes to have in my ears that will distract me from the many miles I will be running.

  1. I love fitradio and soundcloud to find mixes to run too. I often find myself dancing through some of the walk parts of my long runs. Whatever keeps it moving. 🙂
