What Inspires You?

As a musician, I’ve always found music to be inspiring. Music has the power to lift me up when life gets too hard, bring me back down to earth when life is going crazy, soothe hurts, heal wounds, celebrate great moments and connects with something deep down inside of me like nothing else. While my talents may not have me topping the charts. I still love having opportunities to perform in front of people (or just for the walls of where I live). So, for me, the soundtrack to a workout needs to be inspiring to keep my energy up.

In the colder months of the year, I’ve taken to the gym to run on a treadmill. This takes out the “it’s too cold” or “it’s raining” excuse for not running. While I am using this type of training to keep me going, it’s not as picturesque as running outside. So, I rely heavily on my trusted playlists to keep me going on the treadmill. Lately, this song has been super fun to run with. So, I thought I’d share my current fav song on the playlist with you all. Hope you enjoy!

I’ve always enjoyed running with Toby Mac tunes. On one of my playlists resides a Toby Mac block of music that carries me through the intervals I’ve been running. “Eye On It” is at the very beginning of that block. The music stays pretty up beat and hearing that “eye on it” line over and over again helps me focus.

What say you readers? What inspires you in life? What inspires you to run? Leave a comment below. I’m always looking for more inspiration.

  1. I have found that people inspire me the most. People that have followed my progress from day 1, people who can’t run, people who have their own “story”…or running journey.

…and Toby Mac is my favorite “running partner” too!

    1. Thanks for your reply! I totally agree. Also, glad to see another who has Toby as a “running partner” out there!
