This September is going to be a busy month for races at Disney Parks and Resorts. It will all start off with the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend. That is something y’all know about already.
On September 23 – 25 is the Inaugural Disneyland Paris Half Marathon. Again, you already know about this race as there was much excitement when it was announced.
On Tuesday, we learned that there will be a Hong Kong Disneyland 10K race weekend!
The first official race to run inside the park！On the mark, get set to join the Hong Kong Disneyland 10K Weekend – Presented by AIA Vitality. Happening on 10 and 11 September, the theme park will present a series of exciting races and family running theme activities. Athletes can run through the theme lands of Hong Kong Disneyland for the very first time in the 3K, 5K and 10K races, and have your camera ready as your favorite Disney friends will be cheering you on and welcome any photo opportunities with you to commemorate this magical experience!
So, on September 10 and 11, one weekend after the Disneyland Half Marathon Weekend, Hong Kong Disneyland is getting into the running weekends. As you see in the quote from the web site, this is NOT a half marathon weekend. They are offering a 10K, 5K, and 3K race. Here are the details…
Mickey 10K Run
The event is co-organized by the Hong Kong Amateur Athletic Association, the results of the Mickey 10K Run will be recognized in the Hong Kong rankings!
- Race Date: September 11, 2016 (Sunday)
- Public registration for Mickey 10K Run begins: May 30, 2016 (Monday)
- Package price is HK$899.
- Platinum and Gold Magic Access members can purchase the package at HK$650. (This offer does not include Park Admission Ticket)
- Participant must be 16 years old or above (on the day of event).
- Package includes 1-Day General Admission Ticket for Hong Kong Disneyland and 1 Event T-shirt.(Park Admission Ticket is valid from September 5 to 25, 2016.)
- Participant will receive Mickey 10K Run medal with lanyard at finish line upon race completion.
- The first 3 athletes who complete the Mickey 10K Run (Race Category) will receive a trophy and a gift awarded by Hong Kong Disneyland Resort.

Duffy 5K Fun Run
Join the Duffy 5K Fun Run and be the first to run through the seven themed lands of Hong Kong Disneyland!

- Public registration for Duffy 5K Fun Run begins: May 28, 2016 (Saturday)
- Package price is HK$899.

They will be selling merchandise online BEFORE the event! Hey runDisney…you could learn something from this race. I love this idea! Also, notice that your race fee includes a 1 day park ticket! Imagine that!

Why I runDisney 
Agggh, I’m in Hong Kong in August, if I’d known I might have moved things a tad – especially as my trip to Paris may have to be cancelled. Maybe next year…I’m likely to be in HK around that time next year.
I have enrolled in this event and am very excited about it! It is my first time ever to enroll into any run and I feel so motivated! My only question is why it is not part of the runDisney runs? It appears to me that all other runs around the world are hosted by runDisney and wonder why this is different.
